Tiny Dancer

 [Thursday]
Only getting about 4 hours of sleep the night before, it was a good thing I only worked till 3! I was antsy all day anyway because Jade's ballet recital was at night. :D Ughh when that kid dresses up, she is the prettiest thing in the world. Her dance was hysterical! All the little girls knew their part pretty well, and Jade gets a little "distracted." She started just started twirling and doing her own thing. When she was in the wrong spot one of the girls next to her tried helping her, I thought a fight was going to break out between them. Thank god Jade kept her cool and listened. She is a little ham, definitely had the biggest smile the entire time, she was born to be on stage! My entire family and I am sure half of the audience was in tears from laughing.
It would have taken me more time to choose just picture because they are all so cute!! bear with me.

Gram

Wed morning I woke up and went to work out with Erika. :) Very nice! We got to catch up with was much needed. Back home I helped clean for the better part of the day in preparation for Gram to get here. It is pretty nice now that my dad is back at work because I actually have the chance to talk with my mom. We made coffee and chit chated while doing slow paced chores. With my family, if you give us 10 hours to get something done, it will take 10 hours. Haha and it did. Oh well.
Claire, my mom and I left for the airport around 8:30. The sunset looked super sweet but I couldn't get a decent picture since we were driving.
Claire and I were saying how much we love airports because it reminds us of going somewhere new, coming home, or picking up someone we love. So very true. I always think of the beginning of one of my favorite movies, "Love Actually." It was funny to see my mom run and hug my Grandma when we finally found her. I wish i could tell you that I got some awesome pictures of people re-uniting... but I did not. It's not very clear but you can see mom in the blue shirt behind the revolving doors.

The worst storm I have ever seen was going on outside, luckily we were under a parking pavilion. Claire and I had the job of babysitting the car while mom and grandma got the luggage. Claire and I were super slap happy and being silly. We ran to the edge of the garage where it was pouring, so that we could see the storm. It was awful! The loudest thunder I have ever heard in my life hit when we reached the corner and we both screamed. Lol. Mom came and told us the luggage would not be released till the lightning stopped, bummer... We thought about leaving but a security guard came up to us and told us that everyone had to leave their cars and go inside away from the glass windows. My dad told me the phone that a tornado had touched down near Det. Metro airport. COOOOL.... lol. Now later on, I heard no business about a tornado in Detroit but maybe tornadoes aren't a big deal? Last I checked they were haha. It must have been a tiny one. We were stuck inside for a while. When I asked my grandma how her flight was, she said in the most serious voice, "well I was looking at everyone's crotches... no bombs. That is a good thing I guess." Aahahaha, that is like my grandma in a nutshell, she is hysterical. Anyway, I won't go on and on, but it was an entertaining adventure. We didn't end up back home till well after 2 am!

Home improvement

 [Tuesday]
Haha a while back, Kat and I were talking and she was saying she loves watching home improvement shows with her parents. The entire conversation I was imagining the good days of Tim Allen and Jonathan Taylor Thomas from the show "Home Improvement." Only later did I find out she just meant redecorating shows on HGTV. Bummer! lol. So that title is for you Kat.
No I did not spend an afternoon with celebrities, but I did redecorate my bedroom finally. I should say finished decorating. After working all day at the pool, I hung up all my pictures and started cleaning my room. My Grandma Purdy was flying in from Georgia for the week because Claire's open house, and she would be staying in my room. That was just the push I needed to finally get it done!
 Reading nook :)

My camera makes the color of my room look pretty obnoxious but it isn't like that in person. I also hung a new tiny book rack but I forgot to take a picture. Oops. My days at work are already turning on auto pilot because I can't remember a darn thing that happened!

Father's day

Today I woke up at 6:30 to go fishing with my dad and his friend John on Crystal lake. It was funny because I caught all the fish haha. Just baby blue gill but that is what we expected. I think I caught 10 ish that we kept.
I was teased for this guy. Smallest one of the day.
Proof that I can unhook a fish. Little punk pricked one of my fingers though...
It was nice to spend quality time with the dad. Hello other sisters, where are you? lol.

Back home, after a decent nap, Kp picked me up to go to her neighbors open house. We both went to pre-school with his older brother and have been friends with the family for a long time. I love that everyone in her neighborhood knows me! We were such active little kids and made friends with everyone. It was like a little childhood reunion.

Our friend Courtney is part of the neighbors family and was there with her new 1 month baby, Carson! Oh my goodness I couldn't stop asking questions about the baby and obsessing over him. If anyone can't tell, I have been a bit child obsessed lately. I guess that goes to show my calling is to somehow work with little ones, or maybe that I just want to be a really awesome mom. I hope so! I can't wait to have kids. Haha good thing my mom and dad are not reading this!
Holding a warm cuddly baby put me in a good mood for the rest of the day : )

Wake Up

Haha couldn't think of a good title. I woke up at 6:30 to be at work by 7:30. Every Saturday for the rest of summer is going to be interesting lol. I stopped by 7/11 and got coffee to help me through the day.
I won't go on and on about work. First in-service completely by myself! 4 saves and a failed VAT... Yuck. I was surprisingly in an over all good mood though. At the end of a 12 hour work day I felt very accomplished :)
I was pooped back home! The kiddies came over. I was a bit slap happy so I was annoying Jayden, it was soooo funny. Seems a bit backwards doesn't it? Gracie was wearing the cutest outfit ever! A little baby halter top/dress with pink leggings.I think she was flattered when I asked to take her picture.
She can officially say Chummy and Toni. (Claire and my respective names...).

Satellite Heart

 [Friday]
Good song by Anya Marina; it's from the New Moon soundtrack. I listened to it when I was a bit frustrated after work. The lyrics fit my mood and thoughts and fit the overall spooky mood of the night!
Long tiring day at work. I really wanted to go to the Backstreet Boys concert with Karla, because that was our thing when we were growing up but oh well... My family was cranky! I went over to Kp's and we vented about our lives. Sometimes all I need is a good cry lol. Morgan joined us in the porch.

We went shopping for her mom and got lots of yummy fruit. We ran into our old friend from orchestra. She is married and expecting another baby! It is crazy that people our age have their entire lives set for them. That may seem like a bad thing, but the stability must be a relief. I feel lost and behind sometimes. Hooray for young mom's though, that takes so much growing up and responsibility!
Meijer reminded me of shopping as therapy at school haha. That was like my escape when I needed to get away from everyone. Here is a picture of the sky when we drove home.
We were going to go see Letters to Juliet, but a storm blew in right before we left. I usually love storms but I was a little freaked out by the intense wind! I heard it got up to 70 mph. I wish I could tell you I got an awesome picture of the crazy lightning... but I am not that talented. (yet!)

If we have not love, it is nothing

Thursday was another day off of work. I got to sleep in! I made a yummy salad and got in my bathing suit and layed out in the sun for a good while. I tried to make progress in my book, "The Irresistible Revolution." Shane Claiborne is pretty insightful dude. I will give a full review when I am done with the book but I am taking it slow because I want to soak it all in. I underlined a part that I hope will stick with me for a while. He talks about how so many people are doubtful because there are not miracles left and right. There is little hope that we can even make a difference as great as Jesus because we are not magicians.

I hadn't healed any lepers. Even though  I touched them, they still went home lepers at the end of the day.But I began to discover "the greater things."

Beyond the miracles, what has lasting significance is love. We can do all sorts of miracles, but if we have not love, it is nothing.

Reading things like that make me feel less insignificant and small. Especially if I do become a doctor, I know that I will not be able to fix or save everyone but I can put my whole heart into it. Lately, investing my love in ridiculous little things seems useless. We don't need water turned into wine or people healed with miracles because in the end love is all that matters. Anyway, I could write an entire book on how important I think love is. And not just love on one focused person but for everyone, strangers, even ourselves! (I am working on that last one). I just wish the rest of the world felt that way.

I had a good workout at Mott. Read some more while on the bike. Then I went home and watched Oprah with Claire. Kp and I later went over to Jared's and we walked down to his beach. Erika came over and we watched the Laker's game. Friendly argument gone wrong... uh oh lol.

Berry good day :)

Could my titles be getting any cheesier? hahaha. Wed. work was canceled! Kp, her, mom and I went for a swim at Mott for our work out. It was tough at first but after a while it felt good to be swimming again. I need major work! We saw the same cute girl that was at Starbucks. If it weren't so creepy, I would have asked to take her picture. She had such cute red curls and was glowing with happiness!
Kaitlin's mom bought us berry smoothies from Micky D's after our work out. It was super delish. At home I ate a berry salad that my mom bought me. Look how spoiled I am! Good food is enough to make a good day for me :D

First aid in-service was later which went well. I am glad that our staff is much more respectful than the other waterpark! I love working with all my besties :)   (most of them at least)
I watched The Time Travelers Wife, by myself before bed. Very interesting movie. I heard it was bad and confusing but I didn't think either- it just was not the best. I love that it didn't seem like it was in this time or world, but a more scenic, whimsical world.

Not goodbye- just see you later

Tuesday was the day before Al was leaving for Australia! Oooh and I finally bought a membership to the fitness center at Mott. :) Yay! I can stop just "wanting" to get in shape and actually do it. Kp and had a decent work out which made me very happy.
I stopped by Karla's to help Claire babysit the girlayyys. The apartment was chaos! I spent 3 hours cleaning geeeeeez. My reward in the end was rocking Gracie to sleep. She is such a little cuddle bug I love it!  There is a picture on Claire's phone somewhere...
Later I met Al at Starbucks with Kp, Erika. Banana chocolate Vivano ! YUMMMM. We saw the cutest little girl who was fascinated with us older girls and she wandered over to our table to say hi. I forgot what it is like to be a little kid who has envy for the pretty grown up girls. So adorable :)

Kp and I were both in not the best of moods later that day.. So we took a walk down to her park like the good old days. We bought pop and candy at the party story and the old guy that works there remembers us from when we were little! The smallest interactions with people make me so happy. Just to be noticed or remembered is such a tiny thrill haha.
The beach was gorgeous. Swinging and talking about life in perfect weather. Doesn't get much better! Simple things with no plan create the best memories

They roar and they meow and they look so pretty...

Haha that title was for my own personal amusement. I am weird I know! If you don't know the kitty song than you should. It is very fitting.
Monday I worked till 3ish. Kat came over for a bit and we killed the rest of the cheesecake. Yum! We wanted to get Happy You chinese food but it was closed... We stopped by Al's old house and met the lady who lives there Teresa. She has an adorable two year old daughter :) Poor lady had to leave the west side of the state for Waterford. She has got no clue lol.
Kat and I jumped on the trampoline and played with Lewis and Oliver. Hahah, it was very much like I was a kid again. The cat ate some catnip and was going insane it was sooo funny. Here is a picture of the two Kitties playing together :)

Fire, Bubbles, and Cheesecake

Today, Sunday was a good day. I finally had a day off. Since all my friends were working I decided to take on the task of cleaning and preparing to have Karla over for her birthday. My family agreed to celebrate Sunday night while we were all home. I spent the better part of my day making a cheesecake, I had no clue it took so long! It was my first one and I am proud that it turned out close to as good as my mom's (not quite there yet!). The stupid recipe I am sure mis-printed the amount of time needed for baking because I left it in twice as long and the center was still a little under cooked. All the flowers are from my backyard! I love going back there and being able to pick an entire bouquet! Gardens are a must when I have my own house :)
Before Karla and the girls arrived, I had a long over due phone conversation with the lovely Ellen Hensel. :)
I miss you a lot and am so excited to live together next year! Bye-bye sophomore slump.

Jade wanted to play with my violin and I taught her a couple things. It is too big for her but I think she has potential! She is such a smart kid.
Please ignore my messy room! Kaitlin- if you have read this far, #1 thank you! #2 I decided today Jayden reminds me a lot of you. She does a ton of funny faces that crack me up because they are the same faces you make! Also this picture reminds me of you haha. Idk why.
While we were all eating dinner some guy came to our door panicked asking if we had a fire extinguisher. No we do not, so he ran away haha. I guess the people across the street had their dryer catch on fire, you could see smoke coming from their basement! A fire truck and a bunch of emergency vehicles came down my street and parked right in front of the house. It was sooo funny how excited the girls were, they wanted to go outside with Karla and watch the neighborhood drama. I took a candid picture of them sitting out front through the window blinds. Love it :)

Sorry to write such a lengthy post, I know my life is not all that interesting! Karla would not let me take a decent picture of her so I will have to get one another day. I would say today was an overall successful day at the Gersabeck household haha, a rare event. Here are some more pics of the day. Thanks for reading!

Mom blowing bubbles to try to cheer up a crying Grace. She would kill me for posting this!

Get Money- Get Paid

The lovely words of Mr. Chi City, "get money, get paid." Hahhahaha. If you haven't watched his youtube videos you need to! I know you are all thinking right now that I really need to get a life... this is true, but I also have to make as much money as possible to survive in the school year, so I might as well try to make the most of working all the time! I really am blessed to even have a job, so I will try my best to not complain about it. The pool is fun anyway. Saturday I spent all day at work. What made me happy was I got several complements on my employee of the week board :P COOOOL! I seriously put some time into that lol. I will post a picture later.

June 11

Friday was the opening day for the Wavepool! I was excited to start as headguard, it turned out to not be bad at all. I am glad I have gotten a lot of time to get used to doing stuff in the office and figuring out scheduling stuff so I am not really a newbie. Overall, good day, yay :)
On the other hand... I have really been the worst person ever when it comes to birthdays! Friday was Karla's birthday and I did not even go to see her because I was so exhausted from work. We both worked close to 12 hours so I guess that is reasonable. I was really disappointed because every year since I can remember, the yellow rose bush in my backyard has been in full bloom for Karla's birthday. I remember being a little kid and seeing the yellow flowers start to bud and I would get excited for Karla's big day haha. (Little kids are like that, remember?) So I went back there after work, because at least I could get a picture of that. All the flowers were already gone! I completely missed even seeing them because I have been so caught up with work. I am going to blame global warming on this one!
Despite the neglected gardens in my backyard, due to my mom's new job, there are handful of other pretty flowers in bloom which I took pictures of instead. Happy Birthday Karla!

Grown up baby!

Thursday was Jayden's pre-school graduation! I had no idea that it would be so sad, but they played a slide show and "My Wish," by Rascal Flatts started playing and I seriously got choked up! It would be so hard to be a pre-school teacher and have to leave all those kids. I swear that girl is meant to be in front of a crowd. Her and her class sang a couple songs and the entire time she was glowing and waving to us. Too cute :)  It is so hard to believe she is going to be in elementary school next year!

Dude- there was this obnoxious parent who was like standing up in the front row, acting like his kid was the only one who mattered so I couldn't get a good picture of Jade on stage. I was furious! I discovered that I am most likely going to be one of those crazy parents who would go up to that guy and give him a piece of my mind. The only thing stopping me was that my mom was there.
Here is a cute picture of Jayden hugging her teacher goodbye.

After the ceremony we played on the playground for a bit and I got some cute pictures of Jade and Grace. Jerry locked his keys in his truck and I was the only one with long enough arms to reach the keys! Haha I had to climb halfway through a tiny window and reach as far as I could. It was quite comical.

Later that night was the last all guard orientation at the park, yay! I do not enjoy giving direction to a large crowd of people, especially when my friends are there!

Monday-Today

Monday and Tuesday were basically the same day. I worked pre-season from 12-5 and then did new guard orientation until 8. I like the newbies because they are much easier to deal with. I think I actually intimidate them and they believe I am in charge. Ha. The other guards however, are not fooled lol. Tuesday night I realized something called Erika McCracken was missing from my life so I went over to her house for a bit. We went over to Jared's for a bit and watched "the game"- whatever that means. They watched some boring bball game while the other girls were annoying them. It was quite amusing! Although I was dead tired, I loved watching Kaitlin and Erika crack up over seriously nothing. They had enough fun for the 3 of us lol. ( I do not mean that sarcastic, I am just super tired once again!) I got some really funny pictures on Erika's camera which I will have to steal and post later.

Wednesday=today. Yay! It feels good to be caught up. I think I spent all day worrying about the all guard orientation which is dumb because it was not hard at all. I just felt like I had a lot of people watching me and judging my every move. My boss actually was because she talked to me about it afterward lol. All good comments though, phew! I think it is good practice for me to be out of my comfort zone because with the profession I want, I am going to have to do uncomfortable stuff everyday. After an exhausting 3 hours of hearing my own voice shout, I tried to rescue Karla from the terrors of motherhood. I cleaned for a couple hours (the kiddies helped haha) and tried to do what I could but it was more than I could handle. She went to the store to buy Jade's pre-school teachers an end of the year gift. Props to all mothers out there, especially single mothers- your job is hard! The babies are worth it though, they make me happy even when I am exhausted. :D Pictures later <3

P.S. I forgot I was going to post a link. Claire and I were watching Jimmy Fallon clips on NBC.com again because I have formed an obsession. I thought this skit in particular was hilarious. Please watch it! In fact, watch all the Robert Pattinson videos. If you don't think this is funny, I am not sure we have the same sense of humor, http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/video/ipad/1227292/

Clarity

As I drove home Sunday morning from Kaitlin's, the John Mayer song Clarity came on. It just made me so happy! The lyrics seemed very fitting.
"I worry, I weigh three times my body
I worry, I throw my fear around
But this morning, there's a calm I can't explain
The rock candy's melted, only diamonds now remain"
The night before, Kat, Kaitlin, Erika and I had spent the night over at Allie's new house. We stayed up late talking about nonsense things like old childhood books and such. I love random things like that :). I loved that it thunderstormed all night and I loved that when we woke up Erika and I went to jump on Kaitlin to wake her up. I love the little family of friends that I have :D Bari treated us to breakfast at the Original Pancake house. Holy-cow, best food ever! We all look sooo attractive in the morning lol
Here is a picture of my delicious raspberry crepes and bacon :)

The ritzy life is so not me- but it is fun to pretend every now and then!
After I got home, it was from one extreme to another. Claire and I went with my mom to her friend from work's daughter's open house (did I say that right?). It was at Highland Recreation center. I hope none of those people ever read this, but it was very hillbilly. There was even a blue grass band I kid you not! Claire and I were beyond amused, but that was not my scene either. Smoking and drinking and hanging out at a random run down pavilion made for an awkward situation. The girl had ice cream in a cooler but it was melting so somebody took the dry ice out and threw it in the lake. Claire, my mom and I watched it for like 10 minutes as it bubbled out of the water and instantly turned to white fog. Very fascinating! Sorry this is so long- I suppose it makes up for the bad days. No pressure to read it all! Anywho, Claire and I were bored before we left to this ordeal so while we were waiting in the car we made a fake person out of random stuff for the purpose of scaring my mom. It worked! Tooooo funny hahahaha

We are weird.

oh P.S. I just realized in that song, it says "So much sacred in the month of June" haha how cool. Seriously go listen to Clarity, it will make you happy!
